The way you access the Manage Your Education and Skills Funding service is changing…

From 2 March you will no longer access the service ‘Manage Your Education and Skills funding’ using IDAMs user accounts.

You will access this service through the Department for Education Sign-in system (DfE Sign-in) instead.

What is DfE Sign-in?

It’s an online system where you can access several education services, and manage those who use such services.

What is Manage Your Education and Skills Funding?

Manage Your Education and Skills Funding (previously known as the Skills Funding Service) is a service that enables you to:

  • sign documents
  • view your funding allocations
  • view the funding you’ve received
  • manage apprenticeship details
  • tell us about your subcontractors

Why is this happening?

We are in the process of decommissioning the IDAMs system.

This means that services currently accessed through IDAMs will move across to DfE Sign-in one at a time.

We hope this will provide a better experience for all users.

Here’s one benefit: on DfE Sign-in you’ll be able to access multiple services online and be associated with multiple organisations, all from one account.

Manage Your Education and Skills Funding is the only service moving at this time.

We are aiming to complete the decommissioning of the IDAMs system by the end of July 2020.

How will this affect me?

From 2 March you will need to sign in to DfE Sign-in to access this service.

If you do not have a DfE Sign-in account one will be created for you, and you’ll receive an email asking you to set a password.

Your current roles and permissions will be carried over.

All Super Users will need a DfE Sign-in account, even if you do not use the Manage Your Education and Skills Funding service.

If you do have a DfE Sign-in account, simply sign in on 2 March to use the service.

Will this affect the way I manage users?

It will.

From 2 March you will need to sign in to DfE Sign-in to manage people who use the Manage Your Education and Skills Funding service.

You will do this via the ‘manage users’ tab in the navigation bar.

Remember: from 2 March you will only be able to access the Manage Your Education and Skills Funding service through the DfE Sign-in system.

You can continue accessing the service as normal until this date.
