    Hi all
If an Apprentice is two thirds through their programme, who was eligible at the start of the programme, is offered a place at University (self funding through SLC) decides to take the offer, would they remain eligible to complete the framework under Section 1:4 “Once confirmed as eligible, the learner status for that learning aim or programme will not change for the length of that learning aim or programme unless this relates to the employment status of an apprentice” – there is no change to employment status?”

If not, what rule would apply to exclude from eligibility?

    Cheers in advance

I my opinion they are still eligible, as you say.

    In principle yes.

But are they still going to be employed? If so, and <30 hours, you may need to amend duration.

They remain eligible, but would still have to meet the other criteria such as employment, the number of hours working (16+) and the minimum duration.

What if a Learner has accepted a place at Open University to study Criminology just prior to signing up for an apprenticeship, but still wishes to start an Apprenticeship in Business, (a sector in which they have no experience), and the employer is fully supportive (the employer is a solicitor)?
