Im after some guidance. We have been informed that some apprentices have now been redundant whilst being on a break in learning and i was wondering how we code this in the ILR?
Is it just a case of adding an employment status of 11 or 12 and the date they were made redundant and ACT 2 records (if not already added)?
This is the first time i’ve come across this and just wanted to make sure.
The guidance from the PSM:
If an apprentice is made redundant, you must record this in a new Learner Employment Status record with Employment status code 11 or 12, as applicable. While the apprentice is eligible to continue their programme (see the apprenticeship funding rules), an Apprenticeship contract FAM type of ACT1 or ACT2 corresponding to the most recent employment period must remain in place without an end date in order to receive payment. If a new employer is found for the apprentice, then a new apprenticeship contract FAM type and a new negotiated price record must be recorded for the start of the period of learning with the new employer.
If an apprentice becomes unemployed and is not eligible to continue their programme, they must be withdrawn from the apprenticeship.
HI .. can I just check that with the guidance for support for apprentices made redundant where it gives different scenarios for if they are within 6 months, 6-12 months and over 12 months to training end date
e.g Apprentice circumstances:
Apprentice is within 6 months of the final day of training.
What are we taking as the ‘FINAL day of training’? – is it the practical training period end date, and therefore to the Gateway stage OR is it to the date that we expect them to have passed their EPA (so what we knew as their Planned End Date of the whole programme)? MTIA
