  • Hi
    Can you help?

I am running a short accredited course which an asylum seeker wants to join. They have been in the country for more than six months (from Lebanon /Palestine. Their claim being considered by the Home Office. Their ID says ARC – Claimed ID Asylum – No Work – No Public funds.
Can you advise whether I can fund them via the AEB budget and is it full or co-funding?

    Many thanks
    Jill

    Hi Jill

Definitely co-fundable. Asylum Seekers aren’t in receipt of benefits and can’t work to be “low paid” so, unfortunately, can’t be fully funded.

A lot of providers use some of their Learner Support Funding to cover fees for Asylum Seekers.
