I’m hoping there are some DAS experts on here.

One of our employers stopped the payment in error for two apprentices as they thought the learners left their organisation but they didn’t. We have since lost two months OPPs due to this error.

They said they cant restart the payments but have to set up a new cohort. Is this correct and what happens to the two months missed payments?

They have to change the stop date all the way back to the beginning (as if it never happened), then create brand new records that are identical to the original ones. The money is then associated with the new DAS records.

It’s a terrible system. We’ve been asking for years for a mechanism by which employers can unstop their records.

    Thanks for this Ruth.

When you say back to the beginning to use the learners start date? and then create a fresh cohort for the same dates?

Yes, exactly 🙂 The stop date should match the start date. It effectively cancels the original records. If they set up a new cohort with the same details again at the same time, you shouldn’t have any issues with your previous funding, it all comes through as before.
