Does anyone else find it ridiculous that the ILR validation is requiring an Employment Record for learners on non-regulated First Steps provision?

I understand the requirement for ASB courses but having to collect employment status for learners doing a 1-hour non-accredited taster session is quite annoying.

Couldn’t agree more. The value of the employment data being returned for non-funded learners must be close to zero.
And why can’t it cope with retired people?

I also agree with this. We had a load of Adult Safeguarded learners carried over from 11/12 with an Employment Status added to there learning record on our MIS. We now can’t get the ILR through without adding additional employment record – LOU or Self, Part-time or Full-time (it throws up an error). We don’t have the resource to phone round all these learners to get this information (which would be pointless anyway) so in order to get the ILR through we made up the information and added it. This was also time consuming and pointless.
