I’m aware that the requirement for upskilling Functional Skills to level 2 has been put on hold for any learners who are working towards a standard.

Does the same apply to Frameworks? Are we able to claim if the learner has achieved their level 2 framework with their level 1 Functional Skills?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hello Paula,

    Please see below:

“Therefore, apprentices who are due to take their EPA on or before 31 March 2021 should be passed through gateway to sit their EPA without the need to attempt the level 2 functional skills English and maths assessment. Main providers should retain evidence if an apprentice did not take the level 2 assessments due to coronavirus (COVID-19). A level 2 apprentice will still require a level 1 functional skills in English and/or maths in order to complete apprenticeship.

The temporary suspension applies to both apprenticeship standards and frameworks.”

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, very much appreciated.

Do you know if the temporary suspension for upskilling will stop after 31st March and if active learners will then be required to revert back to the upskilling rules?

    Many thanks
