I have a learner on an apprenticeship programme that has declared they have ADHD on their learner paperwork and another that has declared they have dyslexia. Apart from the declaration itself, do we need to collect any evidence of these and if so what type of evidence is required? e.g. a doctor’s note or Educational Health Plan.
It depends. if they’re just declaring it on their enrolment form, then it’s a self-declaration, no evidence required.
If you’re going to claim Additional Learning Support for them because of these disabilities, then the evidence is about what support is needed, planned and delivered, rather than any “proof” of the disability itself.
