    Hi All,

We currently have a debate going off in our team meeting.
For learners that have been on a level 2 with us and are progressing onto a level 3, do we need to do another initial assessment to see what level Functional Skills they are at even though we have progressed them onto level 2 FS.

    Thanks
    Emma

    Thank you 😉

So they’ve done L2 App (and, I assume, L1 FS where applicable) with you and are moving up to L3 in which case they’ll ***have*** to do L2 FS if they haven’t got it, so, in a sense there’s no point in assessing *whether* they need to do it, but you’ll need to assess *what* they need to do to complete L2 FS or how will you know their starting point and monitor their progress (Ofsted things, not funding things).

If they’ve started L2 FS during their L2 app, then they’re just continuers and you’ve already made that assessment, so why would you do it again?

Yes the most are in the process or have gained elements of level 2.

Thank you, this is what the majority thought, pointless exercise as we already have their FS ILP in place with evidence.

Thank you for clearing this up! 👍
