Does anyone know if the LSF claim on the ILR can go beyond the planned end date? Thank you.

    Hi Matt,
    Yes.
See the guidance from the PRM:
    Learning support funding Section:

The Learning Support Funding (LSF) FAM type should be recorded against one of the learning aims for learners who need learning support funding. For apprenticeship and traineeship learners, this is recorded on the programme aim record only. For traineeship learners, once the Programme aim has ended the LSF is recorded against one of the remaining component aims if applicable.

For Apprenticeship Standards under Funding Model 36 the LSF FAM type can also be recorded against English/maths component aims. This is only the case where the English/maths component aim continues after the programme aim is closed, and the learner still requires learning support. This FAM type must only be recorded against one aim at any point in time.

    H Martin.

    Thank you for your reply.

So as long as the programme aim remains continuing – whether beyond PEED or not – LSF can continue to be claimed?

Also, should we also record the end date retrospectively? Or can we put the end date as a futu date, as though it is a planned end date?

    Hi,
You can claim LS as long as they are still in learning.
The Date Applies From – LearnDelFAMDateFrom and the Date Applies To – LearnDelFAMDateTo should be completed to indicate the period the support is planned to be delivered and claimed.
You can revise the Date applies to if the support ends sooner.

Do you know if the funding will still be claimed if the date applies to is not returned on the ILR? I ask because we’re having a problem with the dates holding on our xml file.

    Hi,
I do not think so as:
In addition to recording this Funding and monitoring type for this learning aim, the Learning Delivery Funding and Monitoring Date applies from and Date applies to fields must also be completed.
I assume it would cause a validation error.
