    Has anyone had an instance yet of an apprentice achieving in less than a year? We are testing every eventuality and aren’t clear if (or when) the sanction is applied. Or indeed if applying APL lets you claim the achievement in less than a year.

    I would say have a look at the thread on “19+ Reduction in Length of time on programme” at http://feconnect.education.gov.uk/forums/topic/19-reduction-in-length-of-time-on-programme/page/2/#post-1789 which refers to this.

    In answer to your question: yes for learners who started before 1/8/12, but no for learners who started on or after that date. According to the thread referred to above, you may get paid for 19+ after 6 months, but it would fail an Audit.

    The other scenario is when a learner has some prior attainment and hence less than 100 in field A51a (PropFundRemain in XML-speak) when the minimum duration can be less provided you can justify it.
