    Does anyone know why I am receiving the following error?

    PHours_02 Planned hours must not be less than 278 hours

    Is this something to do with part time workers needing to at least 278 OTJ hours?

    Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

    Part timers have to have the programme extended pro rata, the 278 is the least the otj can be for a one year programme

    Remember, you’re reporting the hours for the WHOLE apprenticeship in the PHours field, so you really shouldn’t have a calculation that ends up being less than 278…

    I have a potential new starter who will be working 18.5 hours a week, how do I calculate how long to extend the course for which is currently 12 months? I have found a formula in the funding rules but it refers to those working 30 hours? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    yes, we use the formula here:

    P39.3 Where part-time working is agreed, you must:
    P39.3.1 record the agreed average number of hours each week;
    P39.3.2 evidence why this working pattern is in place; and
    P39.3.3 extend the minimum duration using the following formula:
    i. 12 x 30/average weekly hours = new minimum duration in months;

    so 12 x 30/18.5 = 19.45 months minimum duration, so I’d make it 20.

    Thanks Steve, that’s really helpful. Much appreciated.
