We have our first apprenticeship starts where a non-mandatory qualification is being included in the learning delivery – generally being paid for by the employer – it’s included in the commitment statement and employer contract but I would appreciate some advice in respect of the ILR – colleagues at other providers have said they don’t include these in the ILR but I’m wondering if it should be shown as a ’99 – Non-funded learning aim’? Thanks

    Hi Sharon,
If you are a Further Education (FE) college you must include in the ILR provision where the full cost of the learning is met by the learner or their employer must be recorded on the ILR using Funding model code 99. The Source of funding does not need to be returned for this learning.
If not then it is up to you if you want to include these aims in the ILR for completeness.
