    Hi all,

If a student for example has completed a level 2 business admin apprenticeship then some time later with a different employer decides to complete another apprenticeship unrelated….are they eligible for NWM for an apprentice again (for the first year) or are they exempt from this wage due to having already completed an apprenticeship?

Struggling to find info on this.

    Any guidance appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi,
It relates to the individual apprenticeship and their age at start.

Thank you for your reply Martin, so to confirm, a 25 year old enrolling on their second apprenticeship elsewhere, unrelated, would still be eligible for £3.90p/h for the first year?

    Kind regards

    Hi,
That’s what the NMW rate says and some employers may take advantage of this, but most would pay higher.
It is the problem where providers do nested Apprenticeship levels instead for the level for the job.
