Funding claim submission
Mid Year (R06) Funding Claim 2019 to 2020
Open for submission Review and Edit
I can get the above but the submit button doesn’t do anything. I have reported this to the HELP DESK. Apparently, I’m not the only one having this issue.
I had this error. It appears if the learner’s start date is prior to 1/8/2019. I have found it is ok if start date is in this academic year.
Thank you Martin
Z0002347 – Supported Internship
ZWRKX001 – Work Experience/placement
We have a small group of high needs students on a ‘Supported Internship’ program and are on work placement for some hours but I am not clear whether I need to use both aim references. The Provider Support Manual 2019-20 P.113 states aim Z0002347 must be used.
Do I just create a work experience record against this code only and not use ZWRKX001 or do I need to record the same record under both aims?
Please could you advise?
Thank you Martin
I was interpreting an achievement at GCSE grade 4 as an exemption reason for not studying further Maths quals.
Thank you again Martin for all your helpNovember 9, 2018 at 12:01 pm in reply to: Employer number on the EDS. Is this the same as the ERN no? #305804
Our curriculum managers would greatly benefit from this. Please could you send also point me in the right direction?
I’m new to this. What does SFS refer to? Does this apply to EFA 2016-17 final claim?
Thank you so much for your quick response and so near to my deadline .
What would we do without this lifeline?

can you confirm that loan funded delivery cannot be subcontracted in 2016-17 as I thought this was being withdrawn in 2017-18 for sub-contractors.
I think I have misunderstood . All the learners involved are over the age of 24 years and cannot get 24plus loans. We have started this programme and I now find that these are creating an error in FIS because of their age.
Does this mean that this was only available for 19-24 year olds?
Thank you for your quick response.
Just to confirm, that we CAN use our Adult Skills Budget to co-fund the learners studying for this award.
ASB query. We had some learners (over 24 years) enrolled with us in 2014-15 studying a I year GCSE English & maths but only achieved grades E-G. They want to re-enrol on the course again for 2015-16 to improve their grade. Are we able to fully fund these learners?
Thank you for responses. I will just change the aim.
Have a good weekend

Thanks for your response. I didn’t even get as far as importing any data.
You are right about leaving it overnight, after a good nights sleep it’s now behaving properly.
Just an update on this in case others have identified the same issue. I contacted the support desk and received this reply:
Further to your query, the EFA have advised that they are going to be requesting a change to the funding calculation to resolve the issue you have identified. Unfortunately they are not able to currently confirm the timeframe for this, if you have any further queries please contact the EFA by email to:October 8, 2014 at 8:05 am in reply to: FIS EFA Funding Claim Report shows two learners in Band A at 450= hours instead #9364
Thank you Martin for taking the time to reply. I have sent my data file to the support desk for to see if the can sort out any coding errors as I can’t find the issue.
Going home now for a large G&T.
Thank you againSeptember 25, 2014 at 7:05 pm in reply to: FIS EFA Funding Claim Report shows two learners in Band A at 450= hours instead #9062
We have 31 high needs learners who should all receive all receive element I and 2 funding of £4000 & £6000 Non have been coded as receiving Element 3 funding as we are in the process of allying for this. The system seems to recognise that 29 of the learners are high needs but not the two 18 year olds unless they receive element 3. Is this correct?
I don’t think I understand the funding . Next year when these 2 students reach age band 19-24, will they then attract the higher level of funding?
The Funding claim shows the following
16-19 540+hrs (Band 5) 7 students
16-19 450+hrs (Band 4) ** 2 students (these are the two that I am querying)
19-24 students with LDA 540+hrs (Band 5) 22 studentsSeptember 25, 2014 at 5:17 pm in reply to: FIS EFA Funding Claim Report shows two learners in Band A at 450= hours instead #9060
These students are high needs with a coded 139A Learning difficulty assessment and have been coded exactly the same as all the other 16-19 high needs learners. The only things that set them apart are that they are slightly older than the rest and have been coded with a disability as autism rather than Moderate learning difficulty. I think I will change the disability code to see if this makes a difference.
I have like others have previously experienced odd reporting in the Fis report eg losing 7 learners so I just wondered whether this could be another glitch.

Thank you Martin for you helpSeptember 18, 2014 at 6:37 pm in reply to: What are the MLP Success rates for 2013-14 and 2014-15 #8876
Sorry all for the confusion This should read paid on Performance NOT profile and I have since been told that we will not get paid for any achievement in R12 as we are not treated the same as colleges.
Hi David, Luke & Mark
Thank you for your responses
I have a custom built MIS Sql access so do not use any commercial software.
We are in more of a ‘partnership arrangement’ with one contractor offering to lead.
In 2012-13 our aims were coded ER 45 LDM125 and were all completed in that academic year.
2013-14 our aims were coded 35 but I have not used LDM125.(not sure whether I should be still using this)
I use code 1 in Outcome to generate achievement funding that is shown on the FIS Summary in both ‘Achievement’ & Total Achievement’ columns a and is reflected in the total column (far right).
My query has arisen because of self-doubt (I it doesn’t take much to shake my confidence) as to whether I have recorded achievement in the correct manner and without using an ‘Achieved date’ and also because I wasn’t clear as to what we should expect to be paid by our lead partner.
I’m still unclear about using ‘Achievement date’ as Luke has a different view. . Luke also mentions achieved flag set (not sure whether this relates to a particular system)
I am now a bit clearer as to what we should expect to be paid.
Thank you.fo your help
Thanks Steve for this information.
We are sub-contracted so I will pass this onto to our lead partner to see if he can come to some agreement with his auditors
I have also lost 7 students and lost valuable time on my last day before annual leave
