Is this yet another shambles, or is it me?
I downloaded the spreadsheet only to find it has employers who haven’t had learners with them for years. Many of the cells which need to be updated are protected (firstname surname and email).
There is no reason whatsoever that the spreadsheet shouldn’t be able to be sorted to make it more readable.
Now we are told by the IPSOS Employer Satisfaction:
“It has come to our attention that a small number of providers have been using last year’s Employer List to survey their employers”. Well, whose fault is that? There was only one there to be downloaded.
I’ve reported this problem so often to Service Desk – it is sending spurious emails with no meaningful information as to what has been published. Today, of course, they only want urgent questions regarding ILR returns, but who knows whether what has been published is important or not!
Any comments from the authorities please?
Could we have some clarification on this please?
I asked the same question on “Karen SFA”s post on 18th March and have yet to receive a response. Can anyone from the SFA please comment? Thanks.
Any sign on these yet?
Thanks Karen, could you just clarify what is meant by this being based on the R07 ILR. Surely it should be based on the R08 return, i.e. activity to the END of March.
That’s where the confusion is arising Mark, because there ISN’T an Achievement date field is there for apprenticeships? There is just an end date and a combination of outcomes identifying what that date represents. And would you then change the date itself once achievement is received. Sorry if I’m being thick!
So on the last date in learning, what outcome would you use?
And you would you change this outcome to achieved once the certificate is received?
Can anyone from the SFA comment on this please?
All I am getting on the BI Tools when I try to open a table is a message saying that the required session variable is unavailable.
We are then sent off to an obsolete website – the Provider Gateway – but all that there is on there is raw data. So is every Provider in the country wasting time analysing this to see whether the graphs on BI Tools (if you could see them) are right?
Yet another farcical waste of time. Please revert to a pdf version until you get this right.
Received this morning:
Please note the following information from the Skills Funding Agency:
The reason that some users can see the BI tab on the Hub, but are denied access to the dashboards is to do with the synchronisation between the QAR dashboard software and our Hub user roles.
We will be running this synchronisation daily so any new requests will be updated by 10am the following working day.
The Service Desk is receiving several hundred requests per day to reset passwords to access the Hub. Please be aware that if your account is locked, then a password reset will not work.
Users will know if their account is locked because the error message says ‘You have used an invalid User ID and password combination too many times and your account has now been locked’
Superusers – if your users are locked out please use the ‘Restore’ function before resetting the password. If you do not ‘Restore’ the account the password reset will not work and the user will remain locked out.
If your superuser is not available or cannot unlock your account, please contact the Service Desk. Servicedesk@sfa.bis.gov.uk

Has anyone successfully uploaded one yet? I think I have, but can’t see it!
but what does the Service Desk say?
I’ve been banging on about this for MONTHS! One night I received 26 notifications. There is nothing to tell you what has been changed or where to find it. There is a truncated file name in the content of the email which means nothing. Yesterday I received 6 emails telling me something had changed but I still don’t know what it was. I’ve got nothing better to do at this time of year!
Seems, as often happens, that they tell you documents are there before they are uploaded and we spend hours looking for things that aren’t there yet. Ours have appeared this morning.
In practice though Martin, not all apprenticeships are advertised as described in the blog. What about the learner who is already employed with a new employer, starts an apprenticeship, and then it takes an inordinate amount of time obtaining the ERN?
Sorry my brain is in year end meltdown. To simplify my question:
Learner is doing an intermediate apprenticeship since November 2014. She has achieved her L1 ICT as required by the framework and wishes to do L2 ICT whilst continuing her L2 apprenticeship. Is this second ICT fundable? I’m sure there used to be clear guidance about supporting progression, etc. but I can’t find it.
Sender Policy Framework allows the owner of an Internet domain to specify which computers are authorized to send mail with sender addresses in that domain. It’s something they need to set.
We’ve had this. It’s because they left in 15-16 and you’ve returned one of the new outcome codes in the Destination and Progression. Just take out the code and input it back once 14/15 is finalled.
The only way to reflect this properly in PICS is to stop and start the aims in Dated Changes, so you have two ZPROGS with the second one reflecting the start date at the new employer. You then record the relevant AGE grant code against the relevant ZPROGS.
Has anyone got anything on their Performance Management screen on the Hub yet, or is it just me that finds it impossible to find anything on the Contracts & Finances section?
Sorry, I still don’t understand. They started on 12/9/13, i.e. before the operational end date and the last date for new starts, and the aim was not removed from the framework until October 2013. Also, why has it only now been rejected whilst it has been valid and funded throughout 13/15 and 14/15?
Martin, where do you get the effective to date from please?
