    Hi Rachel

We are tracking attendance of our 16-18 apprenticeship learners for Ofsted and are looking to expand to doing for all apprentices…..

    Hi

I thought I would pick up this old thread rather than start a new one – as we are now recording apprenticeship attendance in the workplace and are checking this daily… with approx 250-300 apprentices it is a fair administrative task for ourselves; as a small TP. Anyone got a best practice/process they are using and don’t mind explaining/sharing on here?

    many thanks!

    Good Morning Martin,

Can I also ask you if you percieve this to also apply to traineeship learners while they undertake their external work experience?
    Many thanks

    Hi Martin,

Thank you as always – can I ask how other TP’s currently evidence what they do with regards to the reasonable steps?

We always complete a check each time we meet with a new employer, hold a form as evidence of this and we diarise to check annually, going forward, that their Employer liability insurance certificates are in date and we hold those details.

    Many thanks

    Hi

    Hi Georgia

There was a webinar that might help answer your EPA question above I watched this week, it is going to be on Youtube GOV.UK at some point. It was Training Providers: A practical guide to recording end-point assessment activity in the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) – I believe if EPA incomplete outcome must be recorded as ‘ Learning activities are complete but the outcome is not yet known’. Programme aim can only be recorded as completed in completion status field if both training and EPA complete. If EPA failed programme outcome aim must be recorded as ‘No achievement’ , if achieved EPA programme aim must be recorded as ‘Achieved’

    Hi

Thanks for replying Lisa – are your current SLD indicative reconciliation reports, post submission to SLD, once run through your MIS reconcilation indicating data mis matching between your MIS data & the ESFA because mine are indicating the whole year funding for effected learner will be paid back 🙁 with both records live on the AS (Not having asked the employer to stop the L2 record yet) ? – I hope the ESFA/AS will sort a fix in time for the 18/19 hard close!

    Hi

Anyone had any further updates on this issue or can anyone confirm that asking the employer to stop the L2 record works?

    thanks

    Hi

We are still waiting for ours too – the ESFA information previously cascaded indicated we would be getting our funding 20th August then 14th monthly thereafter I believe? Would be nice to have a new communication to put ours minds at rest!

    Hi

I have issues with this and have contacted the service desk (awaiting a response). Last month for R12 I had the same issue – I was advised to put the claim through the HUB rather than submitlearnerdata then – so I have done the same for R13 and the errors disappear……..

    Hi

I don’t use FIS but have alerted my MIS supplier Pellcomp and emailed the data service – as my traineeships are not on any of their reports but having run my data through the new “HUB” I have funding on the PFR!

Hopefully a glitch that will get sorted before Thursday as I had no problems last week when sending dummy runs.

    Hi

    I have a few too against UKPRN_09 🙁

Sarah – did you submit through the new submit learner data or the HUB? I have used the new submit learner data – I will try another file through the HUB as had to do that last month.

    Hi

I called the service desk yesterday and was told to process everything through the HUB as I had EAS issues and ULN issues processing through submitlearnerdata! its concerning seeing as they plan for us only to be able to process data via the submitlearnerdata for R01.

    Hi CK1

I am not sure if this helps but code 445 is the ESFA’s framework number used within the ILR etc (framework lists available on gov.uk) see the link for their list – https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/752583/Apprenticeships_framework_delivery_list_Oct_2018_v3.xlsx

and FRO04113 is the AFO framework ID, so different references for the same framework from different bodies.

    Hi Martin,

I have been following this thread with interest – so how does the following work (see last sentence referring to inital assessment)??
extracted from – Higher Apprenticeship in Management – Levels 4 and 5 (England)
    apprenticeship FRAMEWORKS ONLINE DOC
Entry conditions for this framework -Transferable skills
Candidates seeking to undertake this apprenticeship must be able to demonstrate ability equivalent to or exceeding Level 2 in English and mathematics. This requirement may be met through the achievement of Level 2 functional skills, equivalent GCSEs, O Levels, A Levels or AS Levels, or an initial assessment which demonstrates the required ability.

    thanks,

    Hi

I can get FRM reports for 17/18 up to R8. (16/17 are there for me too – above the 17/18 – so that is weird that you cannot see them.)

Sorry I cannot be of more help, I sympathise with you, as I know the PLR has its drawbacks!
